Mixed-Use
Josephine Butler House, Hope Street, Liverpool
Josephine Butler House was erected in the 19th century, and is named after Victorian social reformer, Josephine Butler.
The site secured planning permission for a new build mixed-use scheme in March 2008.
The scheme comprises 3 no. levels of basement car parking providing 275 no. spaces, 20,000 sq ft of retail and leisure accommodation at ground floor, along with in excess of 100,000 sq ft NIA of grade A B1 office accommodation arranged over five upper floors.
Finally, there is a 10,000 sq ft skybar/restaurant with large outside terrace area to the top/6th floor which will benefit from unrivalled views of both the Anglican and Metropolitan Cathedrals and across Liverpool city centre to the waterfront.
The site is currently providing much needed car parking to the Hope Street area. Demolition of the remaining 3-story structure fronting Myrtle Street and adjacent single story building will start imminently.
This property forms part of a partnership between Liverpool John Moores University and the Maghull Group to regenerate a portfolio of four individual buildings situated within the Hope Street Conservation Area into a range of high quality mixed-use developments.
