Maghull Group purchased the Grade II-listed building in 1992. The former mansion house, which was built by Lord Brocklebank, the owner of Brocklebank Shipping Line as his family residence, was refurbished to provide a 46-bed residential nursing home.

A new-build 50-bed residential care home was subsequently developed within the grounds and Maghull Group continues to operate both of these care homes today as businesses within the Group.

Maghull Construction was the main contractor for both the refurbishment and new-build schemes, whilst Maghull Developments worked in partnership with Liverpool City Council Estates, planning and conservation departments to deliver the scheme.
