68 Hope Street, Liverpool

This Grade II-listed building comprises two blocks constructed in 1882 and c.1910 and is situated within the Hope Street Conservation Area.

The Maghull Group purchased the building in a sale and leaseback agreement with LJMU (Liverpool John Moores University) in January 2006.

The property is currently occupied by Liverpool John Moores University, who house their Social Sciences department within the building. LJMU are due to be in occupation until summer 2011.

In March 2008 planning permission was granted by Liverpool City Council for a residential conversion scheme providing 41 no. 2 and 3 bed luxury apartments.

The 55,000 sq ft former art college was once attended by John Lennon.
