NEW images of the replacement for Central Buildings have been unveiled by owner
Maghull Developments.

If the revised plans are passed by councillors at a meeting on Wednesday, February 15, demolition of the 120-year-old building will begin in July.

Developers expect planning permission will be granted and are confident the £8m project will be completed by September 2007.

The detailed plans include shops, offices and 10 two bedroom apartments.

Maghull Developments managing director Michael Hanlon says Marks & Spencer Simply Food, Tesco Express, Argos and Home & Bargain have all expressed strong interest in the scheme.

He said: "We are a conscientious developer and have strong links with Crosby and its local community.

"When our initial proposal received a mixed response we decided to reconsider our plans.

"While the form of the proposed scheme in terms of development uses will remain the same, our architects have redesigned the elevational design treatments having taken note of comments made by Sefton Council's planning and conservation officers and also local residents and members of the Crosby community.

"We are delighted with the revised proposals which have been well received by both planning and conservation officers at Sefton Council.

"We hope the wider community will now welcome proposals we believe will improve the retail offer an enhance the vitality and viability of Crosby."
