Local parents can be assured that their children will ‘be safe be seen’ this winter thanks to a road safety initiative by local property developer Maghull Developments.

As many as 4,000 school children across the area will be able to collect free reflector stickers from the Crosby Herald and through their schools, as part of an initiative to keep local children safe as the winter nights draw in.

Maghull Developments is behind the redevelopment of the Central Buildings site on Coronation Road which will comprise a mixed use retail, office and residential scheme. It will create over £8million of investment value in Crosby town centre. Work is due to start on site in November and the expected increase in heavy traffic prompted the decision to provide safety reflectors.

Michael Hanlon, managing director of Maghull Developments comments: “Road safety is a very important issue and as the darker evenings draw in and construction traffic increases, we thought it timely to equip Crosby youngsters with reflectors. We’re hoping that schools will use the reflectors as a prompt to hold their own road safety assemblies to explain the importance of ‘being safe and being seen’.

Reflectors will also be available from the Crosby Herald office on Liverpool Road.
